Kaye KnightKaye Knight

RN, B.App.Sc (Nursing), Grad.Dip. Further Ed & Training, M.Ed. Cert. IV TAA. Founder of LearnPRN.

Kaye has extensive experience as an adult educator within the health care industry and tertiary sector in both metropolitan and rural environments and has worked in regional areas throughout Australia.  Kaye is a higher research candidate and an Honorary Associate in the School of Nursing & Midwifery, Latrobe University.

Kaye delivers programs for health care workers including nurses, administration staff and ancillary/support staff and understands the challenges of achieving quality education outcomes within rural healthcare organisations. Kaye has provided education consultancy for a range of State and Commonwealth funded health projects.

As a previous accredited trainer in competency assessment for the Nursing Board of Tasmania, Kaye is skilled in training nurses in the use of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council Competency Standards in daily practice and for assessment of undergraduate nursing students, and assisting registered nurses and organisations in managing competence in practice issues.

Professional achievements include being a nominee for the 1998 Tasmanian Awards for Excellence in Professional Nursing Practice and receiving a Deans Commendation for Outstanding Achievement from the Faculty of Education, University of Southern Queensland.  In 2007, she also assisted Robin in writing 2 chapters for the Emergency Triage Education Kit ETEK.  (See Robin’s profile below for more information on this project).

Kaye´s working philosophy is that learning should be relevant, useful, interesting, enjoyable, accessible and above all, non-threatening. Kaye designs and conducts education using a wide range of delivery modes and specialises in developing education programs for distance and flexible learning modes.

 

Robin TchernomoroffRobin Tchernomoroff

Robin has a strong background in emergency nursing and nurse education, and until recently, delivered training throughout Central Victoria as the Coordinator of Continuing Nurse Education in the Loddon Mallee region.

This role encompassed teaching nurses and allied health professionals at all types of health care facilities, from Bush Nursing Centres and GP practice divisions, to large regional hospitals, in both classroom and clinical settings. She currently provides education services to major health care facilities in regional Australia.

She is an instructor for the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), International Trauma Life Support Course (ITLS), and the Emergency Nursing Paediatric Course (ENPC), three international programs now available in Australia through the Australian College of Emergency Nursing (ACEN) an institution for which Robin was a founding member of the advisory board. Robin is a longstanding instructor of these three courses, which are recognised worldwide.

Robin has a keen interest in rural and emergency nursing issues, representing rural education on a number of local, state and national committees and Boards. She is involved in various educational projects, regularly working in association with a variety of organisations, including Universities, the Royal College of Nursing Australia (RCNA), General Practice Divisions, Australian College of Emergency Nurses and running rural workshops across Australia.

Robin travels regularly throughout rural Australia delivering training and lecturing on a wide variety of health care issues, and is frequently requested to speak at conferences and workshops. In 2001 Robin edited the successful 3rd edition of the Emergency Nursing Guidelines, and has edited the Victorian remote area nurse guidelines.  In 2007 Robin and fellow Director, Kaye Knight, authored 2 chapters in the Emergency Triage Education Kit (ETEK) which is a national Triage education curriculum.  This kit was launched in October 2007 and funded by the Commonwealth Government Department of Health and Aging.
